I thought it would be nice to start something new over here, Friday Favourites. It will be a weekly post sharing some of my favourite things, often across the interwebs, but not always haha! Something fun to start with is my favourite feel good movies. I was thinking that often watching my favourite movies helps me when I need a bit of time for myself, or to be a bit indulgent.
For me, some of my favourite feel good movies make me cry. But they usually also make me laugh and feel good about the world. And that helps me, when I might be struggling. I’m also a huge fan of escapism. It’s nice to be in a different place, in a different world, for a couple of hours here and there.
So, here’s a look at some of my favourite feel good movies:
A classic, that I had to include, of course! It’s a mixture of the love story, the dancing, and the nostalgia that just makes this one of my all time favourite feel good movies. I love to sing along, sometimes dance, too haha!
A love story that makes me cry, but brings me so much joy. I could watch this movie on repeat almost daily! It’s truly beautiful.
Pretty much every Meg Ryan movie ever made….
LOL! I couldn’t pick just one… When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle, You’ve Got Mail, they’re all just classic feel good movies and I love them!
Five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes…..
If you’re not singing that, I’m not sure we can be friends…. Unless you’re happy to watch the movie in the next 2-3 days. Then I might let you off….. maybe 😉
I know it’s a Christmas movie, but hey, what’s not feel good about Christmas?! This film is just….. magic. It really appeals to me because of the smaller details of each person’s life that we get to see into. It helps to make me feel that we all have our struggles, and that things will be OK in the end.
10 Things I Hate About You
Not sure if this is showing my age a bit too much haha! I just feel like this movie has everything in it that a girl wants. Hot boys, humour, literary references and feminism. It’s full of teenage angst and awesome songs, too. I mean, what’s not to love?! Haha!
No words needed for this one, right?
I love singing along to this one 🙂
Bridget Jone’s Diary
This one contains my favourite line of all time: ‘Come the fuck on, Bridget’.
Jonny Depp….. need I say more?
I Love You Man
There’s no way this couldn’t be on my list of favourite feel good movies. It’s SO hilarious. Hubby and I are usually crying with laughter at this movie. Paul Rudd is wonderful, and one of my favourite actors.
I’m thinking that’s enough for now. I mean, I could go on, I am sure. But it’s a good start, right? I’d love to know what some of your favourite feel good movies are. Please comment and let me know 🙂
